Dr. Karim Hamdy is a seasoned HR and organizational development leader with over 20 years of experience across multinational organizations. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Liverpool, UK, with a focus on preparing future leaders. He also earned an MBA from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AAGSB) and has completed executive management programs at London Business School (LBS) in Leadership, Strategy, and Advanced Finance.
As the Corporate OD Director at EzzSteel Group since 2010, Dr. Karim has been instrumental in overseeing the delivery of all strategic and operational HR services across the group, which is the largest steel producer in the Middle East and a market leader in Egypt. In this role, he has led transformative initiatives in organizational design, talent management, and workforce optimization, impacting over 10,000 employees. He also served as the Human Resources & Administration Director for Al Ezz Flat Steel Company, driving HR strategies for multiple sites and business units.
Dr. Karim’s extensive experience includes serving in senior HR roles for Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) and its subsidiary Ring, where he gained expertise in start-ups, mergers, and acquisitions (M&A), managing HR across different geographies, including Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Italy, and Dubai.
Beyond his corporate roles, Dr. Karim is an active board member at Pure Osho General Trading LLC and GOMCO - El Gomhouria Company for Trading Chemicals & Medical Appliances. His philanthropic endeavors and academic contributions are notable, serving as an advisory board member at both Lincoln University, UK, and Cairo University, Egypt. A sought-after speaker, Dr. Karim has delivered keynotes and presentations to corporations, associations, and non-profit organizations across the MENA region and beyond.
